Study Abroad – Greece Program

We are a serious-minded study abroad program whose chief mission is to see undergraduate research being published in refereed journals. We have already published two such papers and a third has been accepted. Our focus this summer is on sustainability in the Eastern Mediterranean. We believe our program is an important part of internationalizing students’ education.

Our application for Global Innovation Fund is open! The deadline for all submissions is January 31, 2025.
This year we have four categories:

Global Engagement Fellows – up to $2,000
Research Awards – up to $20,000
Study Abroad/Away Awards – up to $10,000 per year
Teaching & Curriculum Awards – up to $2,000

1st Annual Bioeconomy Career Day event on January 15th

February 5, 2025 from 4-5pm: The 3 PMS: Explore Product, Program, and Project Management
These panels provide students insight into various industries as well as advice for navigating their own careers. Each panel starts as a moderated discussion and ends with an audience Q&A.

FieldNotes CALL FOR STUDENT ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS

Hello undergraduates,
Do you want to actively engage with science communication with your research? FieldNotes is seeking both written and visual submissions for our Winter 2025 issue! We aim to provide a platform for undergraduates to practice science communication, and primarily publish pieces about environmental research by UW students.
Our editorial board will work with you to edit your article throughout Winter quarter and it will be featured in our annual issue in both print and digital forms.

RSVP now for NOAA Hollings Scholarship application workshops in January

We are hosting workshops this coming Winter Quarter on January 8th and January 22nd at 4:30 pm (FSH, room TBD) for any UW students planning on applying to the NOAA Hollings Scholarship. The upcoming workshop sessions will be structured around applicants being paired with graduate student mentors to receive multiple rounds of feedback on the written components of the application, as well as help with filling out the rest of the application form.
