The College of the Environment is pleased to announce the availability of undergraduate scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

The position of Biological Technician provides critical support for the organization by assisting science staff with project reporting tasks, literature reviews, data management and summaries, fieldwork, and administrative related tasks such as expense tracking, travel arrangements, equipment procurement, vehicle maintenance, and other office activities to promote an efficient workflow. This position is office based with occasional fieldwork.

Open to women who will be juniors or seniors at a four-year college or university in the state of Washington in the Fall of 2021.  Applicants must have a declared major in the sciences, engineering or mathematics, and must have a United States issued social security number.

We are reaching out to various universities and colleges to recruit students for our summer camp counselor positions. Camp Sewee takes place at the Sewee Coastal Retreat Center located near Charleston, South Carolina. Staff will report to camp in mid-May and work until early August. Counselors will be working with youth ranging in age from 8-16.

FISH 497 B is an advanced course on the ecology of marine predators, the environments they inhabit, and the important biotic and physical processes that govern the structure and function of the ocean ecosystems they occupy.

We are recruiting for a qualified scientist to work as a benthic invertebrate researcher on a federal contract we are bidding. This position is full-time, based in Seattle, WA, and will start in May 2021. Our ideal job candidate will be experienced in identifying benthic invertebrates, self-motivated with strong analytical skills, resourceful, organized, adept at creative problem-solving, and a team player who excels in a dynamic environment.

The Marine Science Institute is seeking a qualified Junior Specialist in marine science to work with the California Sea Grant Extension Program and collaborating researchers on a marine biotoxin and fisheries project. This work aims to identify factors influencing biotoxin impacts on fished species, particularly crustaceans.

The NEFSC Cooperative Research Branch is hiring several new contract staff to support the Branch’s research initiatives. The ESA Student Section is hosting the 2021 Student & Careers Resource Symposium in the week of January 25th, 2021. The symposium will be a five-day event with sessions each day. This event is free to attend for everyone.
