2024-2025 College of the Environment Scholarships

The College of the Environment undergraduate student scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year are now OPEN. The application can be found here. Applications are due April 21, 2024 at 11:59pm.
One application is all that is needed to be considered for all the possible scholarships.

General eligibility
All scholarships are both need- and merit-based. Students who wish to be considered for scholarships must complete the FAFSA or WAFSA form and demonstrate need based on the University of Washington Office of Student Financial Aid’s assessment of this form.

Gilman-McCain Scholarship

The John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) is a congressionally funded initiative of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and named after the late senator John S. McCain from Arizona.
The John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) provides awards of $5,000 for child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application (including Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Army, Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy, Navy Reserve, Space Force, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and USPHS Commissioned Corps) to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs.

Padilla Bay Foundation Graduate Research Award in Estuarine and Natural Resource Science

We are now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 funding cycle of the Padilla Bay Foundation Graduate Research Award in Estuarine and Natural Resource Science. This award provides $6,000 for graduate or advanced undergraduate students to conduct research that is relevant for management of coastal and estuarine ecosystems.

UW alumni provide scholarships to current UW students through many different scholarship programs throughout the year. Several of these alumni scholarship programs are open for application now through the UW Alumni Reunion, Class Gifts and Spence Scholarships application process.
Scholarships in this group range from $1,000-$2,000, and students can submit a single application to be considered for any of the seven scholarship programs included.

Each Knight-Hennessy scholar receives up to three years of financial support to pursue graduate studies in any of Stanford’s seven schools.

Cederholm Scholarship

The Washington / British Columbia Chapter of the American Fisheries Society is pleased to announce that in 2024, the Cederholm Scholarship Endowment Fund plans to award two scholarships:

one $1,500 award to an undergraduate student (pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree);
and one $3,000 award to a graduate student (pursuing a master’s or doctorate degree).

Completed applications are due February 18th, 2024.
