Outdoor Education Opportunity for Fishery Sciences Students

We are hiring naturalists for our spring season (April 7-June 11), and I’m hoping you can pass this information on to any upcoming UW graduates or other students who might be interested in a fun, short-term job in outdoor education.
We serve fifth and sixth graders from Yakima Valley and surrounding areas, who come to Camp Dudley for one to four days to participate in hands-on science classes (with other disciplines woven in), outdoor recreation activities, and community building experiences.

Undergraduate Fellowship Opportunity: Aquaculture Experiential Opportunities for Undergraduate Students

We are pleased to announce that applications are open for the Aquaculture Experiential Opportunities for Undergraduate Students (AquEOUS) Fellowship, an USDA Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates (REEU) at the University of Maine’s Wabanaki Center and Aquaculture Research Institute (ARI) and in collaboration with Wabanaki Youth in Science.
This unique fellowship offers undergraduate students from around the nation an opportunity to use indigenous science and STEM concepts to solve real-world problems in aquaculture at the University of Maine’s world class aquaculture facilities.

NOAA Ocean Exploration is excited to announce that the application for the 2025 Explorer-in-Training program is now open!

This year, the Explorer-in-Training program will feature two paid internship options: (a) 10-week, summertime opportunities and (b) 2-4 week expedition-based opportunities. The 10-week internships provide students an opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge through long-term projects supported by mentors in NOAA Ocean Exploration and partner organizations. The 2-4 week expedition-based internships involve participation in NOAA Ocean Exploration-supported expeditions aboard NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer supporting seafloor mapping operations, giving participants the chance to contribute to mission efforts while gaining tangible skills that can benefit their future pursuits.

Hollings Scholarship Info Session Tues 12/3 4:00 pm (FSH 207)

We are hosting an information session for the NOAA Hollings Scholarship on Tuesday December 3rd at 4:00pm in FSH 207.  Freshmen and Sophomores are encouraged to attend. Sophomores already intending to apply for the Hollings this round may benefit from this information session, where we will have a panel of current UW Hollings Scholars to answer questions. We will also share information about other resources for application support, including dates for workshops that we are planning to hold in January.
