There will be 2 legs of the cruise onboard the UW 274 ft-long R/V Atlantis, a global class research ship hosting the robotic vehicle Jason.

My name is Indira Neilson and I am the Program Director for the National Student Leadership Conference’s Environmental Science and Sustainability program held at University of British Columbia this summer. The NSLC offers pre-college summer programs for high school students facilitated by current and recently graduated college students. The NSLC’s main focus is on developing leadership capacity within ambitious young adults while introducing the wide array of career possibilities within their fields of interest. 

Industry Mentorship Programs

Industry Mentorship Programs are a great way for students to learn about an industry and explore professional development topics through small group mentoring (3-6 students per mentor). Through regular meetings, participants will gain insight and guidance about a particular industry, explore topics related to professional preparation, networking and feedback, and reflect on how their experiences and interests can translate to a career in the field. 

I am writing to you today because we are currently recruiting for our Summer 2025 term at the NASA DEVELOP Idaho location based at Idaho State University’s GIS Training and Research Center (GIS TReC).
The Summer 2025 application window is open from January 13th -February 21st, 2025.  The NASA DEVELOP program is a paid 10-week research opportunity open to current students, recent graduates, and transitioning/early career professionals.

The job is open to UW Seattle students of all majors and class years, though preference will be given to rising sophomores, juniors, and first year grad students.

First Year Programs is currently recruiting for our First-year Interest Group (FIG) Leader and Virtual Orientation Leader (VOL) student positions!
FIG Leaders support first-year students by facilitating academic information, campus resources, and common questions in the GEN ST 199 course. Gain lots of experience and development in skills such as public speaking, mentorship, leadership, interpersonal communication skills, and more!
Virtual Orientation Leaders (VOLs) introduce first-year students to campus resources and course registration through engaging online activities. 

UAA Advising is currently recruiting a team of Peer Advisers for the next academic year!
UAA Peer Advisers are experienced undergraduate students who receive extensive training and work alongside professional staff advisers to serve thousands of UW Seattle undergraduate pre-major students each year. Peer Advisers see students for 10-15 minute drop-in advising sessions that commonly involve discussing: course selection, major selection and declaration, satisfactory progress policies, registration, academic difficulty, and referrals to campus resources.
