I am pleased to announce that the application for the 2025 Environmental Innovation Challenge is open! By starting now you will have plenty of time to ask questions and perfect your entry in advance of the deadline on February 10.
The annual Environmental Innovation Challenge is an exciting extracurricular experience that gives students the opportunity to come up with meaningful solutions to big problems the world faces related to climate and the environment. 

I’ll be back on campus next week Wednesday, January 29th – Friday, January 31st for more Info Sessions! These info sessions will be a little different from last quarter’s; they will be autumn program-specific and will hold at least one guest instructor from each autumn program we are offering for Autumn 2025. Read below for details:

SeaDawgs are back to business! We are the o-fish-al marine science RSO at the University of Washington. We invite all undergraduates to join and be a part of our marine science community on campus, including marbio, oceanography, SAFS, and more!
On Jan 22nd, in FSH 203, we will be hosting a general meeting portion from 5:00-6:00 p.m with snacks, briefly discussing important updates about SeaDawgs that you’ll want to hear, then from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The Bioresource Science and Engineering major in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences is hosting its first annual Bioeconomy Career Day in the HUB room 337(morning) and room 334 (afternoon) on Wednesday January 15th.  

The College of the Environment is excited to invite fellow Huskies to our upcoming employer event, Ocean Tech Career Day, on Wednesday, January 22. Representatives from various ocean technology companies will be present to discuss their work, advertise open opportunities, and answer questions from students.
This event is a great opportunity for students who are interested in discovering potential career pathways in ocean technology. 

The UW Career & Internship Center & UW Alumni Association are excited to announce our Winter 2025 alumni panels:
January 22, 2025 from 4-5pm: Careers in Biotech
February 5, 2025 from 4-5pm: The 3 PMS: Explore Product, Program, and Project Management
These panels provide students insight into various industries as well as advice for navigating their own careers. Each panel starts as a moderated discussion and ends with an audience Q&A.

Integrative Field Experience (IFE) Information
The Integrative Field Experience (IFE) is the culminating requirement of the Marine Biology Major, and all marine biology majors spend time in the field away from the UW Seattle campus.
