FHL 432: Marine Invertebrate Zoology will now be eligible to meet the IFE requirement

We would like to announce an additional course that can now meet the ‘Integrative Field Experience’ (IFE) requirement for your major:
FHL 432: Marine Invertebrate Zoology will now be eligible to meet the IFE requirement.
In summer quarter at FHL, students enroll in individual, 9 credit courses over a half term (approximately 5 weeks living at the labs). For eligible summer courses (now including FHL 432), 6 of the 9 credits meet the IFE requirement with the remaining 3 credits applied to your ‘other marine biology electives’ requirement.

Puget Sound Shellfish Technician – Scientific Technician 2 – Career Seasonal – 2026-01921

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is hiring a Puget Sound Shellfish Technician to support essential data collection that informs management of Puget Sound’s shellfish resources. This full-time, six-month career seasonal role (April 1 through September 30) is based in Port Townsend and focuses on intertidal bivalve surveys, crustacean test fisheries, and recreational harvest assessments. Responsibilities include interviewing harvesters, collecting biological data, conducting population surveys, and assisting with shellfish enhancement projects.
