Charly Cooper
Thank you guys so much for tuning into my UW Marine Biology Instagram takeover! I’m so happy to share my experience as an intern at the New England Aquarium.
In case you missed it, I documented a day in my life as an intern in the Yawkey Coral Reef Gallery! This takeover included tank maintenance, life support tasks, fun feeds, and intern events!

Some of the highlights from my day were:
- Feeding the moray and garden eels
- Touring other interns’ galleries
- Food prep
- Prepping the gallery for the public to enjoy
- Gravel washing tank maintenance.
- Banana, the goldentail moray eel.
- A scribbled angel fish.
- Yawkey Coral Reef Gallery food prep.
- Charly stands next to a protein skimmer machine, which filters out waste and uneaten food from aquarium tanks.
- Directly feeding the coral at the aquarium.
