Pathways Student Trainee Position
The WCR is hiring a Pathways Student Trainee (ZA 2) in the Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD)!
As a Student Trainee (Administration), you will be a participant in the Pathways Intern Program and perform administrative work assignments that are clear-cut, well-planned, and designed to support the organization’s mission. You will receive on-the-job and formal training to perform routine administrative assignments under supervisory instructions on objectives, limitations, priorities, and deadlines. Below is a list of duties that will be performed by the incumbent:
- Update manuals on policies, directives, and other memoranda.
- Create and maintain various spreadsheets, databases, and other documents.
- Collect, verify, compile, and summarize data or information.
- Process routine actions and assist higher-level specialists in more complex activities.
Possible duty stations for this position include Portland, Lacey, or Seattle. This is not a remote work position and only current students are eligible. This is NOT a summer internship.
Responsibilities for this position include providing administrative support to the U.S. Section of the Pacific Salmon Commission. The Pacific Salmon Commission is an international organization, governed by the Pacific Salmon Treaty, and is a decision-making body for cooperative management of Pacific salmon between the U.S. and Canada. The person in this position will support the management and administration of grants, review and track budgets, and assist with travel management and logistical meeting support.
Upon completion of all Pathways Program requirements, interns are eligible to be non-competitively converted (i.e., hired) to permanent or term positions in the Federal government. However, conversion is not mandatory or guaranteed.
