Seeking a full time Marine Scientist – Eelgrass
The Marine Scientist position supports the SAV program by contributing to the Seagrass Restoration and Field Monitoring component, which includes supervision of grant and state-funded research projects, including all field and laboratory studies. Under general direction, while exercising within project independence, the position operates as a project leader within a team of staff conducting day-to-day operations in all aspects of the Seagrass Restoration Lab.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of biology, aquatic science, marine science, or other related life science, OR the equivalent combination of education and or experience directly related to the position.
- Experience working in an Aquatic Science program performing sampling, data collection, and conducting experimental procedures.
- Experience analyzing data with the ability to report on findings.
- Experience using a variety of laboratory and or field equipment.
SALARY: Up to $50,000 commensurate with experience

The Coastal & Estuarine Research Lab (CEEL) with the SAV Restoration & Monitoring Program at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William and Mary, is seeking a full time Marine Scientist to join ongoing projects contributing to seagrass restoration, monitoring of seagrass ecosystems and associated faunal communities, and evaluation of interactions between seagrass and aquaculture activities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
