JOB: Fish Health Technician in lab (USGS Western Fisheries Research Center in Seattle)
Searching for a Fish Health Technician in my lab (USGS Western Fisheries Research Center in Seattle). This position will be involved with our fish health related projects. Duties will include assistance with processing biological samples for histology, fish husbandry and animal care of research fish in the wet lab, fish necropsy and parasitological examinations, preparing samples for PCR and genetic sequencing, and preparing oral/written reports for research projects. Salary:
GG-05 $20.09-26.12/hour
GG-06 $22.39-29.11/hour
GG-07 $24.88-32.35/hour
Duration of Appointment: This is a temporary excepted service position not-to-exceed 1 year but may be extended up to a maximum of 2 years without further competition. Employment may not exceed 180 working days in a service year. All qualified applicants, with or without Federal status may apply and be considered. Appointment to this position, however, will not convey permanent status in the Federal service.
The work of this position will not exceed 1039 hours of work in a service year.
Work Schedule: This position may be Full-Time (40 hours/week) or Part-Time (16-32 hours/week) dependent on availability.
Travel Required: Position does not require overnight travel, except for summer months including June to August, when 4 nights per month may be required.
Relocation: Relocation expenses will not be paid.
