IT Database Software Specialist – Cooperative Research
Location: NMFS NWFSC Seattle
Project Length: 12 months or more
Position Type: Full-Year
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
Salary Target: $109,546.00 – $142,408.00
Closing Date: Nov 5, 2023
The position is a temporary database professional who will be responsible for migrating our Hook and Line Survey’s permanent database from Access into something more robust, likely Postgres. Other tasks will involve streamlining the ETL process from an at-sea SQLite database into the new database and helping our data team support our at-sea software. Essentially we are looking for someone with strong SQL skills, at least moderate Python skills, and ideally (but not necessarily), some R skills, and a bit of natural resources background.
The position is through PSMFC, and the duration is listed as 6 months, though we likely have funds to extend that, and the hope is that we are able to fund the position indefinitely (through yet-to-be awarded grants, etc.).
