My name is Katherine and today I got to take over the instagram! I’m a junior who is a marine biology and SAFS double major, and I LOVE FISH. I love love love fish morphology so that’s what I wanted to share.

I work at the Burke Museum Fish Collection as an undergraduate assistant so I chose some of my favorite specimens to show off some really cool examples of fish morphology.

The collection began in 1919 with the opening of the UW School of Fisheries, and since then they’ve acquired eleven million specimens! We use the collection by sending specimen loans to researchers all around the world, and even for teaching classes here at UW.

I’m so lucky to have this opportunity to share these awesome fish with everyone! If you want to follow up with me or ask me questions, my instagram is @kat_rogers_
