College Office of Inclusive Excellence – Town Hall Meetings
Hello Marine Biology Undergraduates!
I hope all of you had an enjoyable break and start to the quarter! For those of you who I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Clara, and I am the Undergraduate Co-Chair and Marine Biology representative on this year’s College of the Environment Student Advisory Council (SAC) this year. In my position, I work as an intermediary between the Dean’s office and undergraduate students within the Marine Biology Department.
I wanted to bring your attention to an exciting upcoming series of events! This quarter, the College Office of Inclusive Excellence (formerly the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion) will be holding two townhall style meetings for students to share updates on initiatives that increase inclusivity in our College, hear student perspectives, and receive feedback so that people of diverse identities and perspectives feel valued and welcomed. The first town hall will be in-person on Tuesday, Jan 28 @ 3:30 pm in OSB 425 and the second town hall will be on Monday, Feb. 10 @ Noon on Zoom (link in event description). RSVPs are encouraged! This is an excellent opportunity to get more involved in some of the amazing work we do to make our community a welcoming and inclusive environment and to increase the positive environmental and social impacts of our work. Please feel free to reach out to me or the Office of Inclusive Excellence (coenvexcellence@uw.edu) if you have any questions, and I hope to see you all there!
Questions or ideas?
Contact me via email at ckreutzi@uw.edu. You can also get in touch with the SAC through our co-chairs at coenvsac@uw.edu. The Student Advisory Council has great access to people within the Dean’s office, and I hope to make your ideas and concerns heard.
Please feel free to reach out if you ever have questions or want to chat. Have an amazing quarter!
Best,
Clara Kreutziger
