Photography, sailing, and scuba: an Instagram takeover with Yoochan
Passionate about sailing, photography and scuba diving, UW Marine Biology undergrad Yoochan took over our Instagram to share insight into how he became interested in these subjects and how it’s continued through his college studies.
Thank you for tuning in today! My name is Yoochan (@yoochan.an), and I am a first-year student majoring in Marine Biology here at UW. It was a pleasure to do the takeover today. I had so much fun talking about what I am passionate about!
Photography, sailing, and scuba diving are all things that I have picked up very recently. While I did know from a young age that I love the ocean, it never occurred to me that there are opportunities closely related to it. Through my dives in Monterey Bay and Edmonds, I have found a love for scuba diving. I also had a part time job at a boathouse back in high school, where I learned the joy of sailing. Through clubs at UW, mainly the Scuba Pups (scuba diving) and the Washington Yacht Club (sailing), I have been able to continue my passion in college.
Finally, I would like to encourage everyone to propose an article idea for the UW FieldNotes Journal! It is a great introduction into critical thinking and writing through research on a topic of your interest.
On a side note, if you are interested in any of the topics I discussed today, feel free to ask me any time! I am happy to provide help 🙂
