Course Description
Students apply design thinking to plan their marine biology career and build an e-portfolio reflecting their academic, professional, and personal capacity and ethic. Students connect marine science to research, public outreach, education, and policy through preparing for and discussing regular Friday Harbor Laboratory research seminars, the FHL Open House, and day trips to timely and topical local events.
Registration restrictions: requires separate application to study and live for spring term at UW Friday Harbor Labs (FHL). Find out more at: fhl.uw.edu.
Major requirements: Other marine biology elective, 400-level elective
Minor requirements: Biology/FHL elective
