The advisers are available for appointments by phone, videoconferencing or in person to answer your questions, connect you with resources on and off-campus, and assist with your academic planning. Students exploring the UW and Marine Biology academic programs are invited to book a longer ‘Non-UW Prospective’ appointment.
In-Person Advising Availability – August Update
Zoom appointments remain available and can be booked as usual through the links below.
In-person advising will be limited during August. Previously scheduled in-person visits will still take place, but new in-person appointments cannot be self-scheduled online at this time.

Current UW Student Advising Appointment
Current UW undergraduate students can meet with the advisers to plan declare a Major in Marine Biology, to update their academic plan or to explore careers, research and other student opportunities related to the program.
- For current UW undergraduates (majors and nonmajors). Prospective students, please check the section below to schedule a longer appointment.
- Online appointments meet via Zoom. In person appointments meet in the advising offices on the 2nd floor of the UW Fishery Sciences Building in suite 208.
- Appointments can be booked a maximum of 14 days in advance.
Book a UW Marine Biology Advising Appointment
Non-UW Prospective Student Virtual or In-person Visit
Prospective students and families can meet with the advisers as part of a campus visit. The Marine Biology program is unable to give guided tours of labs or facilities, but an advising appointment can overview our programs, answer questions and assist with planning for UW.
- For current high school students (including students in Running Start or IB programs) of any grade, or students currently or previously enrolled in other community colleges or universities considering transfer to the UW.
- Families are welcome to join virtual or in-person appointments.
- Marine Biology Campus Visits can be booked up to 90 days in advance.

- UW Admissions offers general campus tours and admissions info sessions
- The College of the Environment Student Ambassador program (which includes current Marine Biology Majors) are able to schedule time to connect with current undergraduates through the ‘Shadow a UW Environment Husky’ program
