SeaDawgs

The SeaDawgs marine biology club at the University of Washington aims to bring together all those who are passionate about marine science and the environment at large. Follow them on Instagram to connect with fun events, opportunities, seminars/outreach, and other people within the community. All those that attend UW and want to get involved with SeaDawgs are more than welcome to join.

SCUBA Pups

The SCUBA Pups are an RSO on the Seattle campus which aims to educate budding divers on how they can start their journey, push events to get more people in the water, and act as a place where divers can find buddies! Recently founded in Autumn 2023, now is a great time to get involved to help this new community blossom. In the future, the club hopes to offer discounted certification rates, rental rates, and free transportation to club related events.

SEAS

Students Explore Aquatic Sciences (SEAS) is a K-12 aquatic sciences outreach program at the University of Washington. It aims to increase access to science for underserved students in the Seattle area. UW students, staff, and faculty interested in volunteering for SEAS should contact seasafs@uw.edu.

SOS: Student Oceanographic Society

The Student Oceanographic Society (SOS) is a student-run organization created to promote, inform, and improve the undergraduate experience in oceanography at the University of Washington. Membership is open to any University of Washington student regardless of their academic plan of study. There are no dues or requirements for participation in SOS. Our lounge is located in OTB Room 209, please feel welcome to use the room anytime to study, hang out, have lunch. FieldNotes

FieldNotes is a student-run undergraduate journal and digital storytelling platform based in the College of the Environment at the University of Washington. They’re focused on highlighting research by undergraduate ecologists and facilitating opportunities for students to play an active role in science communication. The Field Notes journal is published bi-annually in June and December, and an online blog and photo essay series are updated year-round.

College of the Environment Student Advisory Council

The vision of the College of the Environment’s Student Advisory Council (SAC) is to be a hub of College-wide student advocacy amplifying student voices and agency, promoting change and choice, and improving the student experience through collaboration and advising with the Dean’s office.

American Fisheries Society

The University of Washington’s Student Subunit of the American Fisheries Society is composed of undergraduate and graduate students from departments across campus who are interested in the conservation and sustainability of aquatic ecosystems. The subunit serves to connect students to the state (WA-BC), regional (Western Division), and national chapters of AFS, foster community, and provide resources to all types of students through funding, mentorship, field experience, and more.
