Oregon Sea Grant Undergraduate Summer Scholars Program

Oregon Sea Grant is excited to announce our seventh annual undergraduate Summer Scholars Program.  This PAID ten-week program running from June 19th to August 25th places high caliber junior and senior undergraduate students from around the country with a variety of Oregon-based host organizations (public agency, non-profit, non-governmental) to provide a diversity of students with hands-on experience under the mentorship of a career professional.

The Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE) and UNOLS are excited to announce that applications for the 2017 MATE/UNOLS long-term Marine Technician (MT) internship are now being accepted! Unlike the short-term MATE MT internships that are designed to expose students to the field of Marine Technology, this longer internship is designed for soon to graduate or recently graduated students who are very interested in pursuing a career as a Marine Technician.

[Research]: Summer 2017 Research Opportunities CSU Monterey Bay

The 2017 CSUMB Ocean Science REU program is now accepting applications.
Students in our REU program can choose to conduct research in Monterey Bay in the following areas:

Marine Biology and Ecology
Ocean Engineering
Oceanography
Marine Geology

In addition to electing to work with mentors at CSU Monterey Bay, students can also elect to work with mentors at our Monterey Bay area REU partner institutions.

Internship: Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (UW School of Aquatic & Fishery Sciences)

The Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST), a citizen science program based at the University of Washington’s School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, is recruiting interns for Autumn and Winter quarter.
COASST works with approximately 800 citizen science participants, using their data on beach-cast carcasses of marine birds to establish the baseline, or ‘normal’ pattern of beached bird mortality on North Pacific beaches.

The Curtin University Great Australian Bight Right Whale Study (GABRWS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist as a research intern during the 2016 season.
This position is available for 6 weeks: July 15 – August 31 2016. We ask that intern is able to commit for the entire period.
This study contributes to the long term monitoring of southern right whales in the Great Australian Bight, South Australia, now in its 26th year.

Fully Funded Marine, Oceanographic and Atmospheric Undergraduate Internships (Bermuda)

Applications are due May 31st 2016!
The Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), for the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program, to support eight internships for undergraduate student research at BIOS during Fall 2016 (arrive August 28th and depart November 19th 2016).
An REU internship at BIOS is a great way to gain the experience necessary to embark on graduate studies or careers in the marine and atmospheric sciences.
