“…The incumbent is a journey-level Fish and Wildlife Biologist that assists with fish passage projects to restore and enhance fish populations in western Washington. Under general supervision of a Fish and Wildlife Biologist 4, the incumbent will assist with implementation of the culvert court case lawsuit and Fish Barrier Removal Board strategy. The incumbent will coordinate with multiple barrier owners to maximize habitat recovery for state and private investors. Work will include independently evaluating and prioritizing fish passage barriers. The activities will include prioritizing and coordination among multiple barrier projects. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and evaluating fish passage barriers, working with engineers to correct fish barriers, assisting landowners’ in obtaining funding to fix their barriers through multiple funding programs. Be responsible for providing technical assistance and trainings to local governments, state agencies, conservation groups, and members of the public. Additionally this position will be familiar with the environmental permitting and engineering requirements related to fish passage activities.”
